Jack & Jill review

AI job search & auto-applyjackandjill.ai

Jack & Jill in short

Jack & Jill is a mid-market auto-apply and tailoring tool that trades some control for speed. It works best for candidates applying broadly, and less so for a small number of hand-targeted roles.

Verdict: Jack & Jill handles volume well, but auto-apply quality and pricing tiers vary — pick one that matches how many roles you actually target.

Pros

  • Automates the repetitive part of applying — searches, fills, and submits
  • Tailors your resume to each posting's keywords with AI
  • Saves hours a week vs. manual applying on job boards

Cons

  • Bulk auto-apply often submits mismatched roles if preferences are loose
  • Many tools gate the best applying behind credits or per-app fees
  • Outbound volume can feel spammy to recruiters if overused
  • Results depend heavily on how well your profile is pre-filled
  • Bad experiences reported by users
  • Unexpected charges reported

Since then I have found a lot of issues. In 10 months I have never had a Jill job offered to me. I learned recently it is because my profile was incomplete. Jack filled in my profile automatically when I signed up and I did not know this was an issue. It also runs on an "this" or "that" model so if you are trying to job hunt for roles across industries, remote vs in person, every time you ask it to search for a new criteria it throws out everything else and only searches for things in the new criteria. ... It can give bad advice and has told me to write cover letters and profiles with very smarmy inapporpriate language. ... It forgets things even within a 15 min chat. It makes assumptions about your experience and seniority and then will recommend only jobs in that area even if it is not appropriate. It constantly tells me to apply for jobs in regions I do not qualify for, ineligible locations, or presents jobs as "fresh" when they were posted 14 days to 45 days ago! I dont think it is a scam or a danger but it is a huge waste of time for it's black and white algorithms, horrible memory, and inability to allow multiple search criteria for a job hunter across industries, different resumes, experience levels, and up to date postings. ... ## Deceptive job ads that you cannot apply for on the Jack & Jill site ... I think the idea of candidates submitting profiles and waiting for a recruiter to get in touch is strong, but making people click through and sign up to Jack & Jill only to be told they need to apply directly is just a waste of time. ... ## Break-through tool for job clarity, search and preparation Jack & Jill is a break-through, innovative tool for job clarity, searching and preparation.

Overall rating11 reviews ... Jack and still will charge you $500.00 to replace the orange shut off value to a ball IPF value. ... Do not call them for plumbing repairs.. Owner has no concept of pricing and will be out of business with in two year. ... So far I am not impressed with them. we called them on Thursday and they said they set an appointment for yesterday (Friday). I get a phone call an hour and half AFTER my scheduled time telling me there is an emergency and they can't com. the woman I spoke to was rude and didn't seem to care that I am not able to take a shower or flush my toiler. ... I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. ... We had Adam come by on a Friday to look at our toilet that was running, our sink that wasn't draining well, and our tub that was dripping. He turned the faucet in the tub harder and it stopped running! He told us that i order to fix the sink, we needed a new one, and he fidgeted with the toilet until it stopped running. He only charged us $74 which seemed okay. But a couple of days later the toilet was running again and the tub was dripping. So, on Monday we had him come back. This time he said we needed a new toilet and tub. He said the toilet needed a new fill valve that was impossible to find because the toilet was a Toto and their parts were rarely available, and the new tub would cost $5800. The tub drip is minor, but the toilet running is so bad that the Monroe Co Water Authority had sent us a letter telling us that we needed to look into it. With Adam in front of me, I called the contractor friend who had originally installed the toilet and Adam changed his tune a bit. He called his boss about getting the part for the toilet and learned that not only was one available at Home Depot, but he actually had one in his truck. Then he told me he could replace the fill valve for $250. When I balked, he asked me what I wanted to spend. I told him that I had replaced fill valves on my own for under $100. So her changed his offer to $200. I asked him if he would discount me the $69 I had paid on Friday, and he said no, so the total bill would be $269 plus tax. ... I then told him I wanted to wait to find out from my friend if he had any other suggestions, and he said that would be fine, but he'd need to charge me an additional $69 for a service visit that day. He added that if I refused to pay that, then our association would be over. I opted to not pay him the additional $69 and will wait for a better solution. I have since looked up the cost of fill valves and they are available at Home Depot or Amazon for $28. My conclusion is that he/Jack and Jill are less than honest, manipulative, and over priced. I also will try to get my original service fee back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 ... WAYYYYYYY overpriced !!! The consult was $75 with tax and then a quote of 3k to fix a shower that overflows ??? Price gouging at its finest!! ... When I asked for an itemized bill I was refused. The office manager I dealt with was very unprofessional. ... We had a plugged toilet that just wouldn't unplug.Matthew from Jack & Jill plumbing came & unplugged the toilet quickly. ... This place is horrible and DON'T recommend to anyone. My Aunt had a leak in her hot water heater she lives in a mobile home and called this company to help her out since the one that usually does this stuff her husband is currently in the living room in a hospital bed dying from cancer. When they showed up she told them to be careful as the floor was weak from the leak the technician completely disregarded her warning and fell through the floor then left it with an unsafe condition for her newly installed hot water heater and told her oh well. All while charging her over 2000 dollars and left her with more repairs due to their negligence.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1

I started receiving job roles, but they didn’t really match my criteria. I provided additional feedback, but then Jack began sending roles that didn’t even exist. When I questioned this, the answers were vague, often referencing past positions or saying things like “this was your favourite company and they had this role before,” without real substance. Some of the links to roles were empty, and other roles were completely unrelated, such as soft developer positions that weren’t relevant to my field. At one point, Jack mentioned that Jill would keep me updated on my progress and support my applications, but this never happened. When I asked about it, I received vague responses again. Overall, it felt disorganised and unreliable. The system seems to get stuck on one or two criteria and cannot progress further. I used this for about three months, but it only added to my stress rather than helping me. Unfortunately, I would not recommend it.

Frequently asked questions

Do auto-apply tools actually get interviews?

Most users report more interview invites vs. manual applying, but quality depends on role-fit settings. Filter tightly.

Are they worth the price?

Yes if you are applying broadly; less so if you only target a handful of roles by hand.

Can they get me banned on LinkedIn/Indeed?

Most send via your account, so keep volume moderate. Paid tiers reduce per-day risk.
